Gender- and genre-bending

Fearless - Brigid Kemmerer I like the man's dedication to building interesting magic systems. You know, the ones that require appendices. I think this one was not as successful as the metals system in Mistborn, but still, I give him credit for this kind of detailed world-building.While I think Sanderson has a lot of good stories to tell, I can't say I like his writing style. He likes to show AND tell. All his books read like movie scripts. I think he underestimates his readers, thinks that they need explanations for why a character does certain things. Also, quite often dialogue in his books makes me cringe. This book just seemed particularly rushed and sort of unedited.
